Over de functie:
Op het damesatelier werken tien mensen. Het atelier maakt onderdeel uit van Kostuum, Kap & Grime (KKG). KKG beschikt over een eigen ververij, hoedenmakerij, schoenmakerij en inkoopafdeling. Voor steeds wisselende kostuumontwerpers maakt of vermaakt het damesatelier kostuums voor solisten, koorzangers en figuranten. De ontwerpen variëren van hedendaags tot klassiek en fantasie.

Als eerste coupeur ben je, in overleg met het hoofd van het damesatelier, verantwoordelijk voor de vaktechnische uitvoering van kostuumontwerpen. Naast het zelf vervaardigen van kostuums, bereid je het werk op de afdeling voor, maak je een werkverdeling en geef je werkinstructies.

De belangrijkste werkzaamheden zijn:

•          assisteren van het hoofd atelier bij ontwikkeling nieuwe kostuumproducties;
•          tekenen van patronen;
•          stoffen prepareren, kostuums snijden en in elkaar zetten voor kostuumpassen, in overleg met het hoofd atelier;
•          vervaardigen van proefmodellen/kostuums;
•          begeleiden van de passen;
•          begeleiden/verder opleiden van coupeurs;
•          aanwezig zijn bij kostuumrepetities;
•          incidenteel vervangen van hoofd atelier.

Wie wij zoeken:
Wij zoeken een prettige en vakkundige collega voor de vervanging van één van onze 1e coupeurs die na 46 jaar met pensioen gaat. Je bent een kei in je vak, je houdt ervan om vaktechnisch steeds weer uitgedaagd te worden en je kennis te delen. Je beschikt over ruime ervaring met het maken van theaterkostuums en over kennis van kostuumgeschiedenis. Organiseren van eigen en andermans werk gaat je goed af. Collega’s werken graag met je samen en artiesten voelen zich tijdens de passen op hun gemak. Omdat artiesten vaak niet Nederlandstalig zijn, is het nodig dat je goed Engels spreekt en handig als je ook de Duitse taal beheerst. Je aanpassen aan wat nodig is en klaar staan voor je collega’s is niet meer dan logisch voor je.

Wat wij bieden:

•          een functie waarin je wordt uitgedaagd als vakman (-vrouw);
•          een salaris dat, afhankelijk van kennis en ervaring, minimaal € 2.514 tot maximaal € 3.467 per maand bedraagt exclusief 8% vakantiegeld;
•          een jaarcontract met de intentie tot verlenging;
•          30 vakantiedagen en 5 ATV dagen;
•          de mogelijkheid om opera- en balletvoorstellingen te bezoeken; 
•          opleidings- en trainingsmogelijkheden;  
•          een bijdrage voor een sportschoolabonnement;  
•          een bijdrage in reiskostenvergoeding; 
•          een aanvullend verzekeringspakket.

GEWANDMEISTER/1e CUTTER (women’s costume workshop opera)
(38 hours per week)

About the function:
Ten people work in the women's workshop. The workshop falls under the unit Costume, Wigs & Make-up (e.g. Kostuum, Kap & Grime: KKG). KKG has its own dye shop, millinery, shoe maker’s shop and purchasing department. For ever-changing costume designers, the women's workshop make or alter costumes for soloists, choristers and extras. The designs vary from contemporary to classical and fantasy.

As the first cutter, you are responsible, in consultation with the head of the women’s workshop, for the technical implementation of costume designs. In addition to making costumes yourself, you will also plan, prepare and coordinate tasks for your department and give work instructions.

Main duties include:

• assisting the head of the workshop with the development of new costume productions;
• drawing patterns;
• preparing fabrics, cutting costumes and assembling them for costume fittings, in consultation with the head of the workshop;
• producing prototypes/costumes;
• supervising the fittings;
• supervising/ further training of cutters;
• attending costume rehearsals;
• occasionally replacing the head of the workshop.

We are looking for:
We are looking for a pleasant and skilled colleague to replace one of the current first cutters who is retiring after 46 years. You are an expert in your field and enjoy being challenged and sharing your knowledge. You have extensive experience making dance and theatre costumes and knowledge of costume history. You are good at organizing your own work and that of others. Colleagues like to work with you and you make artists feel at ease during costume fittings. Your language skills in English are fine and you’re willing to learn Dutch. You naturally adapt to what is needed just as you are there for your colleagues.

What we offer:

• a position in which you are challenged as a professional;
• a salary that, depending on knowledge and experience, amounts to a minimum of € 32.581 to a maximum of € 44.932 per year, including 8% holiday allowance paid in May;
• a one year contract, with the intend to renew;
• 30 holidays and 5 ATV days;
