About the position
In our team you are working together with our 13 colleagues in the department. The work takes place in the workshop and behind the stage. Your work includes wig/postiche making and maintaining in preparation for the performances of the opera and the ballet . During the performances, you work as a make-up artist.
As a Senior Wigs & Make-up Artist, you also supervise the progress and quality of the work of the make-up artists during the performances. On the workshop you will work closely together with the 1st Wigs & Make-up Artist keeping an eye on the concept and continuity of the production.
You will work on average 152 hours per four according to a schedule. Working in the evenings, at weekends and on public holidays is part of the job, as is an occasional tour.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a pleasant and skilled colleague to strengthen our team. You should have at least four years of experience with hairdressing and make-up in the theatre world, historical wig dressing , character make-up and independently making of (film) wigs. You like to develop yourself continuously learning new techniques and styles. Completed hairdressing training is recommended.
Your language skills in English are fine and you’re willing to learn Dutch. Basic Level German, Italian or French are welcome. You are a team player at the service of the performances. Adapting to what is needed and being there for your colleagues is only natural for you.
What we offer
- a job in which you are challenged as a professional;
- depending on knowledge and experience, a gross yearly salary of between € 36.288 and € 50.271 including an irregularity allowance and 8% holiday allowance. In July 2023, salaries will increase by € 100 in accordance with collective agreements;
- a one year contract, with ten intention to extend;
- 35 holiday days;
- a pension scheme, contribution towards commuting expenses, a contribution towards a gym membership and training opportunities.

Over de functie
Op de afdeling Kap & Grime zijn we met elf medewerkers. De werkzaamheden vinden plaats in het atelier en in de kap & grime ruimtes achter het toneel. In het atelier vervaardig, kap en onderhoud je pruiken en haarwerken en bereid je de producties voor. Bij de voorstellingen werk je als grimeur.
Als voorman houd je daarnaast toezicht op de voortgang en de kwaliteit van het werk van de kapper/grimeurs tijdens de voorstellingen. Je werkt nauw samen met de 1e kapper/grimeur.
Je werkt volgens rooster gemiddeld 152 uur per vier weken. Werken op avonden, in weekenden en op feestdagen hoort erbij evenals zo nu en dan een tour.
Wie wij zoeken
Wij zoeken een prettige en vakkundige collega ter versterking van ons team. Je hebt minimaal vier jaar ervaring met kappen en grimeren in de theaterwereld, historische haarstijlen, karakter make-up en het zelfstandig maken van (film)pruiken. Je vindt het leuk om jezelf steeds weer te ontwikkelen en kennis te nemen van nieuwe technieken. Een afgeronde kappersopleiding strekt tot aanbeveling.
Omdat artiesten vaak niet Nederlandstalig zijn, is het nodig dat je goed Engels spreekt en handig als je ook de Duitse taal beheerst. Je staat ten dienste van het geheel, van de voorstelling. Je aanpassen aan wat nodig is en klaar staan voor je collega’s is niet meer dan logisch voor je.
Wat wij bieden
- een functie waarin je wordt uitgedaagd als vakman (-vrouw);
- een salaris dat, afhankelijk van kennis en ervaring, minimaal € 2.800 tot maximaal € 3.879 bruto per maand inclusief onregelmatigheidstoeslag en exclusief 8% vakantiegeld. In juli 2023 stijgen de salarissen met € 100,- conform cao afspraken;
- jaarcontract met intentie tot verlenging;
- 30 vakantiedagen én 5 ATV dagen;
- een pensioenregeling, bijdrage in reiskosten en wat leuke extra’s zoals de mogelijkheid om voorstellingen te bezoeken.
